- Those wishing to practice EFT professionally either as a standalone treatment modality or to integrate into an existing therapeutic practice
- EFT Level 1 and EFT Level 2 workshop completion
If you wish to use EFT professionally, you can gain an “AAMET-accredited EFT Practitioner” qualification by attending an AAMET Level 1 and Level 2 workshop, and have completed case studies.
It is also important your trainer feels happy with your skill and confidence in facilitating EFT sessions and this assessment is normally done informally whilst attending the Level 2 workshop.
If you wish to become an EFT practitioner, your trainer needs to be notified of your intention in advance of the Level 2 workshop so you can be supported to ensure your skills are developed appropriately. Perfection isn’t required, as for all new practitioners the real skill develops after attaining the accreditation, however a degree of confidence and understanding is needed. Working with people with their personal problems needs a high degree of respect and developed listening skills. If your trainer feels it appropriate you may be asked to spend some weeks practising and return to a future course for re-assessment.
The following describe other important information regarding becoming an EFT practitioner.
- You will need to complete 5 case studies after the workshop and these need to be submitted for assessment. You may need to complete additional case studies if the trainer feels more practice is needed.
- Before you receive your final EFT Certificate, you will need to have completed 20 additional logged EFT sessions with family / friends. These can be started as soon as you have completed the Level 1 workshop. and need to be done on at least 10 different individuals). These should ideally be logged to ensure they have been done - it is not necessary to write them up. This is important as everyone is unique and responds differently to the EFT process and this experience is vital to develop confidence in EFT in the role of practitioner.
- There is an additional £50 charge for would-be practitioners to cover the cost of case study review and 6 months follow-on support with EFT sessions being run.
- Once having EFT Practitioner accreditation you can gain practitioner membership of the AAMET and have a practitioner listing. You will also need to attain CPD units each year (Continuing Professional Development) to remain a member. Further details about CPD are available on the AAMET web site.
